OVER 20,000 VISITORS TO THIS SITE!
20,385 to be exact.
A HUGE thankyou and hugs and kisses AGAIN to my web site designer / manager and now one of my dear friends, AMY CURRAN who, without doubt is THE most patient and talented person I know.
She's awesome!
And thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to have a look at what's going on at Siyan!
ARIZONA WINS AGAIN
Maybe mum IS keeping a hand in things. I hope, at least, that she knows the Siyan kids are still flying the flag for her. One of her favorites (because she is a Black Fantasy daughter) out of the most recent group of youngsters to hit the track was Arizona (by Pacific Mile). Mum was here to watch Arizona's first two wins and on Friday at Traralgon she ran another good race to lead all the way and win quite comfortably - making her career to date seven starts for three wins and two seconds.
SAD NEWS
Sorry to hear that George and Shirley Wapshott recently lost their handy dog FEDERAL BUREAU (Hoover x Right Way Gloria)
26 January 2012
Although it seems a little hard to be bright and enthusiastic at the moment, mum wanted me to continue on, to keep the dogs going and to make her proud. Part of that is keeping you all up to date and being positive so please don’t think, as I write the news, that mum is far from my mind. I just hope somehow she knows and can be proud of how the Siyan family is going!
RACING NEWS
THREE GROUP RACES FOR SIYAN IN TWO WEEKS!
SALE AND CRANBOURNE CUPS
The super race dog MYSTIC APPLE is proving to be a consistent hard chaser who is emerging as one of Victoria’s elite race dogs – with both the Group one SALE CUP and the group Two CRANBOURNE CUP now added to his impressive resume.
He is by Hallucinate and he is out of the Spiral Nikita bitch SPIRAL SIYAN.
Just a little side note – common banter is that there is no point breeding from an unraced bitch or a bitch that was not a consistent city class winner.
Here’s some interesting news – there is n doubt that MYSTIC APPLE is one of our top race dogs, right? Well his mum never raced at all, let along win a city race!
Another little side note – MARMION is another very successful Siyan bred pup. His mum SHOW STOPPER never got near a race track on race day, had to pretty ordinary litters previously and has now produced the Elite State litter – all to race have won with Marmion being a top dog (see story above)
Go figure!
But it means that you shouldn’t give up!
GROUP 2 LAURELS
The fairy tale story of STETSON DONNA winning the Laurels can be read on mum’s tribute page.
A terrific little bitch who is now in the hands of a wonderful family who have done everything with her – rearing, breaking, training, since they purchased her from us as a little pup.
Peter Dundon has done a brilliant job, only having his training license six months before the Laurels.
A DOUBLE AT SANDOWN FOR SIYAN
Just before mum went back to hospital we ran two dogs at Sandown . An exciting day, with mum watching on the telly at home.
ARIZONA SIYAN jumps and leads most of the way to win her race.
JUSELLE SIYAN also jumps well and wins easily in 29.65!
I could just about hear mum cheering from the track!
ARIZONA SIYAN OFF TO A FINE START.
My big black girl ARIZONA (Pacific Mile x Black Fantasy) has started her career with a bang!
After a couple of rough races for her two first starts, she got it together to win a maiden heat at Warragul in fantastic style – leading most of the way and winning by over ten lengths.
Talk about pressure and a lot of stirring before the race though! She was picked out of a hat to be the Jack Pot dog. If she won her race she would be awarded the jackpot. As it hadn’t been won for quite some time, it was up to two thousand dollars and………bless her heart - she went her hardest and won that as well!
Mum was watching from home and was so excited I thought it was going to be a heart attack that would take her away from us!!
Arizona has had 6 starts for two wins and two seconds so she is going along quite nicely.
CONGRATULATIONS AND APOLOGIES TO EVERYONE!
I am sorry but I still haven’t had enough time to chase up all the other Siyan kids’ wins. I have started it a list and it’s going to be a pretty long one by the looks of things. I will hopefully get it up soon but there are so many now (which is a great thing and I am not complaining!!) So it is harder to keep up with them all.
Apologies for not having caught up yet.
PITTER PATTER
Things have been a little bit quieter here pup wise as Wendy Hogan kindly whelped down SHEZ GOT SPARK (Premier Fantasy x Cardio Spark) for me. She had a gorgeous litter of little coloured pups by a dog I have been impressed with for quite some time – COSMIC CHIEF. I am very pleased with this leggy, feisty bunch of kids! Thankyou Wendy, Cody, Phil and Luke for doing such a wonderful job with the girls and their kids.
MINEOLA GRAND is one of the first group of bitches I imported fro Ireland and England. She is a race winner by Brett Lee and out of the renowned FARLOE OYSTER. She has given me a very exciting litter by top UK sire PREMIER FANTASY. These outstanding babies are very closely related to the mighty FEAR ZAFONIC.
BREEDING IS A TOUGH GAME……….
My top girl LEPRECHAUN GEM (Brett Lee x Leprechaun Yap) was bred to Bombastic. The day after she was due she still wasn’t up to much and because of her size I was concerned it might just be one pup, which may not trigger her enough to go into labour.
So off we got to Sandown – yep, one pup. A Caesar and seven hundred odd dollars after that, we have a big fat black boy. But he was never quite right, right from the start and after a big battle, the poor little bugger passed away a few days later. Oh, the joys of breeding!
CONDOLENCES to ANGELA LANGTON on the loss of her brilliant girl QUE SERA SERA. Gone well before her time this lovely bitch passed away, not long after being bred to Bombastic. She was a great race dog ,a proven dam with her Premier Fantasies going great guns and a real member of the family, she will be sorely missed.
OFF TO NEW HOMES
A big thankyou to the people who have chosen Siyan pups, broodies and race dogs (27 in all) over the last couple of months. I wish you the best of luck with them all and please keep in touch!
3 January 2011
A very special tribute page has been added for my wonderful mother. Please click below.

21 December 2011
FIRSTLY, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE WONDERFUL, KIND PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO HAVE BEEN SENDING THEIR BEST WISHES AND PRAYERS TO MY MUM, WHO IS QUITE ILL.
She is so happy to know that so many of you really care........
RACING NEWS
The Siyan kids have been doing so well lately, it is now quite a struggle to keep track of everyone's wins and places. Congratulations to ALL of you - owners and trainers - for doing such fantastic jobs with the Siyan bred dogs. I am doing more research and finding out more names, breedings and performances so the next race news will have an updated list of the Siyan dogs that are out there. Apologies it is not complete as yet!
But here are some highlights -
SHEPPARTON VIC BREEDERS
Recently, the hotly contested Vic Breeders Maiden Series was run at Shepparton.
The final was decided after heats and then semis. A fantastic result for Siyan dogs with first, second and almost (just missed by half a length) third for Siyan bred pups. First went to JORDY PORDY (Bombastic Shiraz x High Tide Honey). Second went to PREMIER INNINGS (Premier Fantasy x Leprechaun Gem) and fourth went to RUWI'S REVENGE (Pacific Mile x Black Fantasy)
The greatest thing about this was that ALL three pups were purchased from Siyan as babies, all three are from different litters and all three are owned by different people!! So, you can't say we don't sell out best pups!! A fantastic effort from all involved.
EDDY MAGUIRE'S HOT SEAT!
The Golden Paw syndicate have been purchasing pups from Siyan right from the beginning and they are having terrific success with them and their syndications. They have some very high profile and overseas owners including Eddy Maguire who purchased the black dog pup HOT SEAT thru Golden paw. Hot seat is by HADES ROCKET and he is out of our Token prince/Elusive Rebel daughter ELUSIVE ELLE.
Hot Seat has become quite the celebrity himself, making an appearance on Eddy's Million Dollar Hot Seat Show and he has also graced the pages of the Herald Sun. Such great promotion for the greyhound and our industry in general. The boy ran second at his first start (at Sandown) and looks to have plenty of potential, and may even be after more ground than the 500. Best of luck to Eddy, the Golden Paw and Hot Seat!
PREMIER STYLE'S FIRST PUP TO RACE!
Exciting stuff! The first of the Premier Style pups are hitting the tracks and showing plenty of promise but the stand out at the moment is the Siyan bred black girl STETSON DONNA! (out of Silent Flower - Go Wild Teddy x Ashlee Jeanine) Donna was purchased, along with her brother Jimmy, as pups by Peter Dundon of Finley and he has reared, broken in and trained the pair with terrific success. Donna is only twenty one months old and she has already had thee wins at the Meadows (in fine style and excellent times) AND she has just won a Laurels heat very convincingly at Sandown this week.
So Premier Style, from his first litter and first to race is already a proven sire of a city winner AND a group finalist! (In saying all this, I should make it clear that her brother Jimmy is certainly no slouch and will make people sit up and notice as he gains a little more maturity!) Can't wait to see Donna in the prestigious Laurels Final next week. Best of luck Peter! We are so proud to have bred her, and proud that she is one of Premier Style's very first pups! Hopefully she is a sign of things to come from this seriously fast Premier Fantasy son, as a sire.
Footnote - mum's biggest dream with the dogs has been to have a pup running in the Laurels. (Didn't matter if she won or not, just to have one of our pups in the race was all she wanted to see!) We don't still own Donna BUT we did breed her AND she is by mum's favorite boy AND she is a finalist in the Laurels...............
THANKYOU PETER, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, FOR GIVING MUM THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE HER DREAM COME TRUE...............
GOOD BOY, TIGER
Many of you will have heard me mention the tough race dog Marmion - he has been (and continues to be) an awesome dog for his very proud family (Sharon and John Coburn) who bought him as a baby pup and who have reared him, broken him in and trained him themselves (I doubt he has ever been out of their sight, they absolutley adore him!!)
Marmion (Tiger to his family and friends) is a real success story, a dream come true story.
He was one of the first litters we bred at Siyan. He is by Elite State and he is out of the UNRACED Black Shiraz daughter Show Stopper.( I emphasized the word unraced as so many people say that breeding with anything less than a city winner is a waste of time - I whole heartedly disagree!!) I didn't really want to sell him as a pup, he was the only brindle in the litter and I had become quite attached to him. John came and looked at the litter, chose a sister to him and asked me to re consider selling him. I originally decllined but John persisted. I knew the pup was going to a loving family so, in the end I let him go, along with his sister. He wasn't hugely expensive, he wasn't out of a brood worth five figures, he didn't go to a big trainer, he didn't go to some one loaded with money, with all the whizz bang facilities and contacts. He went to nice normal people, just like you and me.....and what a ride he has taken them on!
Here is a letter from Sharon giving me an up date on what their beloved Tiger means to them....
Hi Donna,
You would be so proud of your brindle boy! He has made the final of the Healesville Cup!
He has won his past 3 starts ? 2 at Sale (the watchdog described them as ?breathtaking wins? in close to record time) and today at Healesville where he won his heat of the Healesville Cup. We will be in the final next Sunday, drawn 7.
You asked for a brief rundown of his racing record:
He has now won 22 races from 53 starts and has been placed 17 times. (So 39 times in the money). He has run BON around 10 times in those wins.
At Traralgon in March he broke the first split track record, and at Traralgon in June he made his first group final after running second to El Grand Senor in a heat of the Traralgon Cup. In July he beat Enry Walt in a heat of the Shepparton Cup to make his second group final, and today he beat a smart field including Finbar McCool, Kynan?s Express and Yowyeh, to earn a place in next week?s Healesville Cup.
He has won races from every box, and at most tracks.
We have had SO MUCH FUN racing him!!
This picture I?ve attached was also of him winning at Healesville (in the 7 rug too!). It was his 3rd race start and he was just a pup ? around 20 months old.
Best Wishes
Sharon

PITTER PATTER.............
New arrivals at Siyan....
COLLISION X DOLL'S SCHOONER - (Brett Lee x Doll's My Mum)
Dolly had a lovely litter of six fiesty little black pups in June.
Collision needs no introduction - he is flying high with group winners popping up everywhere including the National Sprint Champion SMOOTH FANCY who is quite closely related to these pups - being by Collision and out of a Brett Lee bitch who is a grand daughter of the Irish import BARNEY'S ALARM.
Dolly is a race winner and is a litter sister to stud dog and top race dog GIVE ME FIVE.
This is Dolly's second litter. Her first, by Premier Fantasy, include multiple winners DIABLO SIYAN and DIEGO SIYAN.
HEADBOUND X SPELLBOUND SIYAN (Larkhill Jo x Witch Magic)
Bucky did a wonderful job giving us eight cheeky black pups in June.
Headbound (Head Honcho x Sobbing Sal) is one of the leading sires in Ireland now - consistently producing group winners with early pace, chase AND strength.
Bucky is the girl I trainer\d and raced for Darren Mac to an impressive seven wins from nine starts. Just stepping up to five hundred she broke her hock and sadly had to be retired. She has always been one of my favourites so Darren has been kind enough to let her live with me!.
Her first litter has produced the exciting YARRAWOOD who broke the Ballarat track record at only his sixth start.
WHERE'S PEDRO X HIGH TIDE HONEY (Surf Lorian x Floodfawn)
Another exciting litter born in August.
We all know Pedro. Sunny is our multi city winner who had fourteen starts with me for seven wins and four placings, some in BON.
This is her third litter. Her first by Brett Lee has produced the incredibly fast AUTOAMERICAN, owned by Darren Macdonald until recently, and NIVEK LAD who is another impressive youngster racking up the wins.
Her second litter, by Bombastic, have broken in well and are not along way off getting to the track.
COSMIC RUMBLE X DANCE SIYAN (Black Shiraz x Dance Portrait)
Bindy is another of Darren Mac's bitches that was trained here at Siyan. An incredibly honest chaser, we were just about to step her up to the distance as all indications were that she would be very competitive , and she did a stopper and was retired.
Her first litter, by Elite State, have broken in well.
This CR litter is especially exciting as it combines to of the best damlines in Australia - the Rumble Spirit / Follow Through line and the Portrait line.
They have a very impressive group of race dogs as grand parents - SPIRAL NIKITA, RUMBLE SPIRIT, BLACK SHIRAZ and DANCE PORTRAIT! All four are producers of numerous group winning dogs.
Due soon......
MINEOLA GRAND (Brett Lee x Farloe Oyster) has been bred to Premier Fantasy for a repeat mating. She only had girls in her first litter and they are so impressive I decided to try again for some boys.
These pups are very closley related to the awesome FEAR ZAFONIC, recently imported to Australia by the Apaps - a fantastic Oyster son, a multiple group one winner and a track record holder.
Grand's first litter (born in Ireland and by Hondo Black) has already had winners, even though they are not two years old yet. Grand is a litter sister to the group winning FARLOE LEE.

A BIG THANKYOU
Firstly, I would just like to say thankyou so much to all my friends, old and new, who have helped me get back on my feet after a very difficult year. I love the dogs and never wanted to be without them but, at times, it seemed an impossibility to continue what I had started. But they say, "if it doesn't kill you , it makes you stronger". There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel now so I will give it another try!
RACING NEWS
Again, Team Siyan is racking up plenty of wins! Congratulations and well done to the connections of the dogs below -

THE SIYAN TRAINED TEAM
The decision has been made to train the Siyan owned dogs ourselves and there are quite a few promising youngsters coming along. Thankyou to Scotty Holmes and Wayne Vassallo for doing such a great job with the Siyan dogs they trained for us over the last ten months or so. I can highly reccomend either to anyone looking for a good trainer who does care about their dogs and get results.
So far, since resuming training, our dogs have won -
TOP KAT SIYAN - winner at Warragul
INDIGO SIYAN - winner of heat and third in final at Warragul.
DIABLO SIYAN - winner of heat and winner of final, plus two seconds at Warragul.
DIEGO SIYAN - winner of heat and winner of final plus a second at Warragul.
SALEM SIYAN - second at Sandown.
JUSELLE SIYAN - third at Sandown.
DESARAE SIYAN - third at Warragul.
THE FIRST BOMBASTIC/STUNNING STYLE HITS THE TRACK
A bitter sweet day for Mark Scholes when his VERY promising girl CERTIFICATE scorched around the track in her first race to win by almost four lengths in BON only to get smashed and seriously injured in the catching pen.Fingers crossed she can recover from her injury. best of luck, Mark.
THE PREMIER FANTASY/DOLL SCHOONER KIDS
Some of the first pups we have got to the track since I went back to training are DIABLO SIYAN and her big brother DIEGO SIYAN. we are very pleased with their first races at Warragul. (Doll's Schooner is a litter sister to Give me Five, being by Brett Lee and out of Doll's My Mum. She has just been bred to Collision.)Diablo has had four starts for two firsts and two seconds. Diego has had three starts for two wins and a second. They both won their respective maiden heats AND finals, over 400 and 460.
DARREN MACDONALD'S TWO NEW STARS BOTH BRED AT SIYAN
AUTOAMERICAN (Brett Lee x High Tide Honey) set tongues wagging with his debut runs winning the Vic Breeders series at Warrnambool. He has since come back form a cracked fibula to have now won six times from nine starts and improves with every run.
Darren's next young star is the pup YARRAWOOD, a very fast little dog by Brett Lee and out of Spellbound Siyan (Larkhill Jo x Witch Magic). He has won six from eight starts and on his sixth start he broke the record at Horsham by a considerable margin, and he's not two yet! Two pups with big futures that could not be in better hands!
PITTER PATTER...............
ELUSIVE ROSE (Collision x Elusive rebel) has had a very exciting litter of seven to the amazing international sire HONDO BLACK. I have tried for years to get semen to this great dog and, thanks to Darren Macdonald, I have finally been able to breed a litter to him.Although full American lines, he is in Ireland. he is one of the leading sires over there and throws, early pace, strength and chase.
With the speed the Collision and Elusive rebel blood can produce, we hope there will be something extra special in this litter.
WESTMEAD ERA imp Ire (Droopy's Scolari x MEGA DELIGHT_ has given us a litter of eight of the feisty pups I have seen for awhile - by the great sire HEADBOUND.
Thrilled with these pups and this combination of lines. Headbound has produced numerous group dogs over all distances with Larkhill Jo and Spiral lines Add the phenomenal bitch Mega Delight and we have high hopes for these kids.
LITTERS DUE..
SPELLBOUND SIYAN (Larkhill Jo x Witch Magic), dam of YARRAWOOD, has been bred to HEADBOUND.
DOLL'S SCHOONER (BrettLee x Doll's My Mum), dam of DIABLO and DIEGO, has been bred to COLLISION.

A DOUBLE FOR SIYAN TRAINED PUPS!
With the help invaluable of Ashley Terry, my right hand girl, I have managed to find the time to finally get a few of our pups on the track. Over the next month or so there should be about a dozen new Siyan kids hitting the tracks!
We had an exciting night at Warragul last week with INDIGO SIYAN, a debutante by Hallucinate and out of my very first greyhound INTEGRITY LASS) running an impressive race to win race one, the first heat of a maiden. Race two saw the pacy INDIGO SIYAN (Premier Fantasy x Doll's Schooner) finally win her maiden after three seconds at her first three starts, to win the second heat.
Both girls are in the final this Tuesday with Diablo in the seven and Indigo in the eight.

A NEW STAR ON THE HORIZON?
Congratulations to Darren MacDonald and the other syndicate members on producing the freakish pup AUTO AMERICAN so perfectly at the Warrnambool Vic breeders Maiden series.
This awesome youngster, bred by Siyan and by Brett Lee and out of High Tide Honey (Surf Lorian x Floodfawn) has got the greyhound world talking with his two amazing wins.
First start, in the heats, he runs 25.32 and blitzes the field to win by fifteen lengths.
In the semi, after coming out second or third, he hit his stride and powered away to win by sixteen and a half lengths in 25.25, which I believe is not far off the record.
Darren bought the pup from us at around twelve weeks of age - how did he pick him out? Well, I actually picked him for him!! :-) This pup is certainly one to keep an eye on!!

BARRIQUE (Bombastic x Silent Flower) continues his winning way with two recent wins in a row at Sandown.
STETSON LILY (litter sister to Barrique) has also had two city wins but at the Meadows.
LUCY BALL (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll ) had a win at Sandown as did her litter brother INTELLECTUAL. (He has had two wins in a row with a BON at Shep the week before his Sandown win)
PHILBY (Surf Lorian x Crystal Siyan) had a win at Sandown.
MISS GRIZWALD (Surf Lorian x Bell Pepper had a win at Wentworth Park)
AND THE OTHER WINNERS -
Special thanks to Scott Holmes for his good win with SPANISH SIYAN (Where's Pedro x Spanish Spiral) Her first start, she jumped from seven and led all the way to win her maiden heat by five lengths. unfortunately she had to be scratched from the final where she was a clear favourite.
TOP KAT SIYAN (Headbound x Kathy's Kitten Ire) is the first dog I have trained myself for ages. Very proud of her run - first start she leapt out and led all the way at Warragul to win by seven lengths in 22.70 BOD. The FFA the previous week was won in 22.76. AND she ran that time pulling up with a cracked metacarpal.
Congratulations also to
KING BRAD (Token prince x Steffi grace) who had had three good wins from six starts.
MARMION (Elite State x Show Stopper) with two wins in a row.
HORNBLOWER (Bombastic x Lemon cruiser) with two wins one in BON defeating Silent Guardian at Warragul.
CALLAMAC ACE (Where's Hoover X Prize Pack) ) with three wins from his last five starts with his litter brother CALLAMAC KID with three wins from his last four starts.
MISS ELKIN (Droopy's Kewell x Black Fantasy) with two good wins one BON at Warragul.
ROCKING OUT (Elite State x Show Stopper) with two wins.
MYSTICAL FANTASY (Droopy's Kewell x Black Fantasy) wins her maiden first up at Traralgon.
SUN RULER (Hoover x Wind Flower)) with a quick win at Traralgon.
APACHE PASS (Whisky Assassin x Dora lee) with a good win at Cranbourne (30.34 and by nearly eight lengths)
TEQUILA LASS (Where's Hoover x Trew Brew) two wins in a row.
WELL DONE TO ALL!
THESE ARE JUST THE KIDS I KNOW OF. THERE ARE OTHERS OUT THERE BUT FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER I HAVE LOST CONTACT WITH THE OWNERS AND PERHAPS DON'T KNOW THEIR RACING NAMES.
IF YOU HAVE A SIYAN BRED PUP RACING, I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.
PITTER PATTER...........
Exciting times with some very special litters born over the last few weeks -
DROOPY'S VIERI IRE X WESTMEAD ZEST (imp Ire).Tom's The Best x Mega Delight.
Five girls and two boys from our treasured Mega Delight daughter, Zest - the first Mega Delight daughter to come to Australia.
These pups are from the proven highly successful cross of Vieri over MD daughters which has already produced group and multi open winners overseas. Although these kids are by an Irish dog they are, in fact, still fifty per cent Australian blood as Vieri is by the Australian import to Ireland TOP HONCHO, Zest is by Tom's The Best, who is by Aussiei FRIGHTFUL FLASH , and she is out of MD who is by the Aussie SMOOTH RUMBLE!
PREMIER FANTASY X MINEOLA GRAND.(imp Ire)Brett Lee x Farloe Oyster
Five big fat girls in this exciting litter - very closely related to the brilliant group dog (and now headed for Australian shores to stand at stud) FEAR ZAFONIC.
Premier Fantasy has crossed brilliantly over Oyster producing a very classy litter of multi group and open winners. This litter has the added bonus of Brett Lee thrown into the mix - already a proven cross with Premier Fantasy.
I have very high hopes for these two litters and am so relieved to have litters on the ground out of these precious imports!!
KIOWA SWEET TREY US x RUMBLE SIYAN. (Carnage x Rumble Spirit)
A very colourful litter of seven boys and three girls from my beautiful big Rumble Spirit girl.
KST has already crossed very successfully over the Follow Through (dam of Smooth Rumble and Rumble Spirit) damline producing the fantastic group winners LENSON JOKER and BOHERNA ON AIR. I have imported two pups by KST that are out of Free To Air (dam of Joker and On Air) and have been so impressed by them I decided to repeat the cross with Rumble Siyan (a Follow Through grand daughter) to KST.
COLLIDE X LEICA YANKEE (Digital x Lark Song imp Ire)
Seven beautiful babies in this litter. Specially selected because of her dam line Yankee came to us after having a pretty ordinary race career, only to find that she had been carrying an injury for quite some time. Spelled, worked on and put into work, she was running some terrific times, with plenty of early pace, but tore her back muscle trialling at Traralgon so we decided to retire her. She had shown me enough to warrant a litter as I love that Wise Plan/Wise Beauty damline (hard to get in Australia ) and her dam is a litter sister to the world famous DROOPY'S BEAUTY.
I am looking forward to getting this litter up and going.
Thankyou to Allan Ferguson for doing this litter for me and looking after mum and pups so well.
COLLIDE X SIYAN DOLL (Larkhill Jo x Delrae Doll)
Only three, two boys and a girl but you can't have big litters all the time, I guess! Dol has already produced some very smart pups in her first litter by Hallucinate (Intellectual - recent Sandown winner in 29.76, Lucy Ball - multi city winner, Kanga Force, Stylish Warrior, etc so I was already happy with that Brett lee/Larkhill Jo cross we have when putting Dol to a BL son. Thankyou to Mark Scholes for doing this litter for me.
OFF TO NEW HOMES......
As most of you would now know, Wayne and I are no longer together and it has simply become too hard for me to run this place and this number of dogs by myself. So I am having an ongoing reduction sale until I get down to about twenty dogs.
So many people have enquired and many have ended up buying these dogs and I would like to thank you all for your support and faith in the Siyan breeding program.
Congratulations, thankyou and best of luck to these new owners of Siyan pups and dogs -

NEW HOMES
As you know we have had to have a rather drastic cut back due to some unforseen personal and health issues and I would like to thank the following people who have obtained dogs and pups recently from Siyan.
I wish you the absolute best of luck with all of them and hope that you keep in touch and let us know how they are all going......
Some of these greys have been particularly hard to part with, especially the girls..................
Scott Pursehouse with his Bombastic /High Tide Honey boy.
Mark Laffey with Rebel Siyan, Chloe Siyan and two Premier Fantasy/Leprechaun Gem girls.
Karen Graham with her Pacific Mile/Black Fantasy boy.
Steve Driver with Elle Siyan
Dean Higginbottmom with three Bombastic/High Tide Honey kids and two Headbound/Elusive Rose pups.
Jeremy Mc Grath with two Elite State/Fiesta Flex pups.
Wayne Kirk (no, not ours, but the trainer!!) with his Bombastic/High Tide Honey boy.
Robin Grubb with his Ahane Lad/Forrester Inc boy.
Peter Dundon with his two Premier Style/Silent Flower pups.
Greg Agius with his two Premier Style/Bell Pepper pups.
Sean O'Donell with his Premier Style/Leprechaun Gem boy.
The Podmores with the Premier Fantasy/Leprechaun Gem girl
Dean Johnson with his Bombastic/High Tide Honey girl
Dawn and Corey Kas with their two Ahane Lad/ Forrester Inc kids.

Matthew Keagan with his two Collide/Shez Got Spark pups
Joe Pringle with Right way Gloria, Royal Sal, his Hoover/Stunning Style girl and his Premier Fantasy/Royal Sal boy.
BEST OF LUCK AND THANKYOU TO YOU ALL.
OFF TO RUSSIA..........
Another Siyan baby has made his way across to Russia. Shiraz Siyan arrived there yesterday and reports are that he has coped very well with the trip but the unprecedented 40 degrees Celsius would have caught the poor little bugger by surprise! He is by Bombastic Shiraz and out of our Surf Lorian/Floodfawn girl High Tide Honey.
Olga reports that all of the other Siyan pups over there( all seven of them) are going very well, winning races AND conformation classes.....!
She says the response to the Aussie dog by Russian breeders has been enormous with Simba Siyan (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll) and Token Siyan (Token Prince x Steffi Grace) being very popular with breeders.
TWO IRISH GIRLS BRED...............
Although we want to cut right back on breeding for the time being, I am sure you can understand that we cannot leave the imported girls empty so WESTMEAD ZEST (Tom's The Best x Mega Delight) has been bred to the brilliant sire DROOPY'S VIERI.
Vieri, although in Ireland and one of their top producing sires, is actually half Australian being by the stud sensation and Australian import TOP HONCHO (perhaps the most influential sire of modern times in Europe) . With Zest being by Tom's the Best who is half Aussie thru his sire Frightful Flash and with Mega Delight also being half Aussie thru her dam Smooth Rumble, these resulting pups will still actually be fifty per cent Australian blood and ill hopefully combine the best of both countries!
Vieri was a multi group one winner, including the Irish Derby and he has sired countless group winners including SPIRIDION LOUIS and DILEMMA'S FLIGHT (both out of Frightful Flash bitches), GELDROP'S TOUCH, FARLOE VERDICT, EYE ON THE STORM, DROOPY'S IKE, FARLOE FOCUS etc, etc.
Although they are still young (and there are even more very exciting pups waiting in the wings from this cross) Vieri is proving to be a fantastic nick with the Mega Delight daughters - already producing group winners, finalists and open winners the calibre of WESTMEAD CARL. WESTMEAD LOGAN, LISACAHA EMMA, SIZZLER'S SPARK, LISACAHA ROSIE etc
On top of this he is also proving to be a notable brood sire, with his daughters producing the like if SI SENOR, BUBBLY TOTTI, DROOPY'S CAVALHO, CALZAGHE FRISBEE. BARNFIELD LORETO. etc.
In Australia, he has already produced the impressive AIN'T WORKIN' who is a multi city winner, ran a good second to Flash Of Light in this year's Rookie Rebel and was also a finalist in the prestigious Sapphire Stakes in the company of none less than the super bitches Cindeen Shelby, Queen Lauryn etc.
The other Irish girl to be recently bred is MINEOLA GRAND (Brett Lee x Farloe Oyster.)
We have chosen Premier Fantasy for her for a number of reasons - he has already proven to be a wonderful cross with Farloe Oyster producing the phenomenal FEAR ZAFONIC (multi group winner and place getter), FARLOE MERLIN, HI TEC. MAGNA WISH etc.
Here in Australia, he has proven himself to be one of, if not the most successful Irish sire of recent times and has produced brilliantly with the Gun law Osti/Brett lee lines producing one of Australia's great race bitches FLASH OF LIGHT (out of a bitch by Brett lee's litter brother) and group winners and finalists PREMIER MOMENT, TUIAKI, BORDAIN, etc.
We have bred a number of litters by Premier Fantasy and we have been thrilled with them (Leprechaun Gem's pup look fantastic at this stage - another PF/Brett Lee cross) so we are really looking forward to this litter, as we are to Zest's Vieri babies.
FREE TO AIR GIRLS ARE HOME AT SIYAN
The two Kiowa Sweet Trey girls out of Free To Air are finally home from their stint in quarantine and both have settled in beautifully.
They are very tall, leggy girls who are on to anything that moves! Keeness plus!
So they will now grow and mature out in their big paddock until its time for them to come in to be prepared fro breaking in...............
SORRY TO HEAR...........
That the Hoover daughter PURE TASTE shattered her leg in a recent race (BUT she will become an important brood for owner and breeder Robert Conway.)
BIRCHWOOD FLYER has also broken his hock ( BUT his loving owner Anne McInnes has patched him up and retired him - to the couch!!)
FACIAL and SUFFOCATE have both suffered career ending injuries ( BUT owner Mark Scholes is re homing both to loving families.)
Thankyou to the owners of these dogs for caring enough to go to the trouble of putting them back together again and finding them good homes.

FIESTA FLEX
Sadly, we have lost our beautiful big Galilee girl, Fi Fi.
The sweetest, most stunning looking girl you could find, she passed away suddenly, only a few weeks ago..
She was one of my first girls and we do miss her.
At least her kids will continue to fly the flag for her.
We watched her son, Adjust, win at the Meadows on Saturday night. A bitter sweet time for us.
We have three beautiful daughters here at Siyan, to carry on her line. Fiesta Siyan (by Big Daddy Cool) is almost the spitting image of her beautiful mother, and there is a Pedro daughter and an Elite State daughter waiting in the wings........
RIP beautiful girl.

A DIFFICULT DECISION
Without going into sordid details, there have been some personal and health issues rear their ugly heads over the last few days and struggle as I might, I have to admit defeat to both of them.
These issues have put me in the position where I have to get my numbers and workload down to a level that I can cope with myself, while perhaps not always being able to put in the hours and work I could a year or so ago (all the falls, knocks and broken bones from my horsey years are catching up with me now!)
To do this I am going to have to let a lot of dogs go. You cannot imagine (or maybe you can) how sad this is making me as there are still so many dreams and goals to reach for, so many things as yet not completed and so many of these dogs I am so attached to!
And how do you choose who can stay and who must go? Heart breaking decisions as so many, apart from being such dear individuals, are entwined with the hopes and the dreams of of producing or being those special race dogs.........
I love this industry and I love the dogs and the people (well, most of them!) and I still want to be a part of it all so I will probably end up keeping six or eight broodies and the same number of younger bitches - numbers that are manageable for one person.
My biggest concern and hope is that I find god people for the girls and pups that are going.
I will still be here for my puppy owners and clients and hopefully still have a shot at producing those elusive champions but on a MUCH smaller scale. My current team of young racedogs are out with some great trainers who are doing terrific jobs and I thank them for that and hope the dogs start winning for them soon!
So there you have it! When you are between a rock and a hard place, somethin's gotta give.
For now, anyway.

PITTER, PATTER................
It is with great excitement we announce the birth of seven gorgeous black pups (three boys and four girls) by super sire BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ and out of one of our recently imported ladies - FINAL ZARKAVA!
Zarkava is a magnificent big blue daughter of one of Ireland's all time leading brood bitches - FARLOE OYSTER and she is out of the brilliant DROOPY'S KEWELL who is also a leading sire over there.
OYSTER is the dam of phenomenal race dogs including FARLOE REASON, FEAR ZAFONIC, FARLOE HURRICANE, NINJA JAMIE, FARLOE MERLIN, FINAL NIJINSKY etc and has been at the top of the leading Dams list for three years.
KEWELL was a top class race dog himself, with early pace and the ability to run well over the 500.
He is the sire of numerous top race dogs, sires and broods including DROOPY'S MALDINI, DROOPYS SCOLARI, SI SENOR, CALZAGHE FRISBY, etc.
Zarkava was only seventeen month old when purchased and, although we did consider racing her when she arrived, she came into season and the decision was made to breed her rather than risk her on the track.
She broke in very well and showed plentyof early speed and looked like she was also going to run out 500 +
We are very excited to have these babies on the ground - perhaps the beginning of a new era in breeding in Australia, and certailny a new era for Siyan!
THE IRSH KIDS ARRIVE!
Our two most recent imports arrived at Spotswood for their stint in quarantine this week.
They are two lovely big six month old girls, a black and a brindle, by the crack US dog KIOWA SWEET TREY (sire of Fancy Mandy here in Oz) and they are out of another leading Irish dam FREE TO AIR.
Free To Air has been a brilliant producer - with dogs the calibre of LENSON JOKER, BOHERNA ON AIR and THURLESBURG JOKER to her credit. Lenson Joker (multi group winner and Greyhound of the Year and Stayer of The Year ) and Boherna On Air (multi group place getter and finalist) are by Kiowa Sweet Trey and these two girls are full sisters but from a later litter. Thurlesburg Joker has been called the fastest dog in Ireland at present and has been a phenomenal race dog so far.
Free To Air is out of another winning, group producing bitch in ALWAYS ON AIR - dam of the brilliant BARNFIELD ON AIR, BOHERNA BEST, BORNA CIRCLE, BLACK ON AIR, etc.
Always on Air, in turn, is out of another great producer of group dogs - LIVE COMMENTARY who is out of MINNIE'S NIKITA - dam of the great SPIRAL NIKITA.
This is a very strong, prepotent damline and we are proud to be able to bring more of it to Australia, through the wonderful bitch Free To Air.
The plan is two race these two young ladies so we can hardly wait for them to be old enough to commence their education.

NEWS UPDATE
MARMION IS BACK
We have just received this lovely email from Sharon Coburn and we'd like to share it with you as it is so nice to see how people really do love their dogs.
"Hi Donna,
This is John’s wife Sharon.
Not sure whether you would have been awake at 10.44 last night, but we took Marmion back to the races for the first time since Feb, over 390m at Shepparton. He won the race, powering away by 5 and a quarter lengths in 22.29, after copping 2 checks soon after the start. It was a special win after all the dramas we have had since he last went to the track.
We had him entered for a race at Ballarat on the 17th March after running a good trial there 5 days earlier, in a time the attendants said would win “anything”, but things went wrong. On March 14th John had a heart attack and was taken by ambulance to hospital. On the same day Tiger (Marmion) wasn’t himself, seeming to be a bit tired and lethargic, and not keen to eat (unusual for him). By the next morning, John was comfortable in hospital, getting ready to have stents put in, but Tiger was really ill, staggering around and whimpering. I rang Chris Watson, who rushed him straight to our vet and he was on a drip within half an hour. He had developed water diabetes and the vet said he would have died if he had been left for another 24 hours. He stayed in hospital for 48 hours on the drip, and came home weighing only 33 kilos (he raced at 36.4kgs) – all skin and bones, but at least happy and alert again. He began eating well and putting back condition, and after a week of being kept restricted to a small yard, had more blood and urine tests and was given the all clear to go into the big run and see how he went. At the same time John came home and had much the same restrictions as Tiger – take it easy and gradually work back to fitness. We can laugh now at how much they paralleled each other with their illnesses.
Tiger recovered quickly, and built up condition, but the test was always going to be whether his race ability had been affected by his illness. We took him to Healesville for a trial last week. He was the 2nd last dog to trial for the day, and the starter told us the track was 10 lengths off, being a bit soggy after rain. Tiger’s time was the best of the morning “by a long way’, and we knew he was back. More importantly, he pulled up well, so we decided to race at his favourite track – Shepparton – over 390m as he was still a grade 5 at that distance, and it would be a good hit out before stepping up to longer races.
So there we were last night – Chris handled him for John – who was watching from the stands with the other owner Greg, and me catching as I usually do. Seven weeks had passed since all the dramas, and we were just hoping everything would go okay, and that he would run a good first up race. We were ecstatic when he won. His time was .04 off best of the night, and without the checks he would have gone much faster. He is maturing now, being 25 months old, and last night weighed 37 kilos.
I’m sorry this has become such an essay, but I wanted you to understand why last night’s win was extra special. Marmion is an extra special dog – and he is back!
Best wishes
Sharon"

DUAL FANTASY (Premier Fantasy x Black Fantasy) - litter brother to SUMMARISE won his maiden at Traralgon. Well done to owner Des McPhie and trainer John Downer who have patiently nursed the promising boy through some nasty and time consuming injuries. Good luck in the final!!
NATIONAL PENNY (Bombastic Shiraz x LEMON CRUISER) is going great guns with another fantastic win at Wentworth Park in the great time of 30.31.
Thankyou to the owners and trainers of these kids for giving them the right opportunities to go on!
ROCKING OUT (Elite State x SHOW STOPPER) who had another good win at Shepparton.
MISS GRIZWALD (Surf Lorian x BELL PEPPER) who is going very well and very quickly with another BON win last week.
CHEEKY RED (Bombastic x LEMON CRUISER) who is going very well for trainer Mark Busitill with her third win at traralgon.
JERSEY BOY (Big Daddy Cool x INTEGRITY LASS) who had a win at Bendigo.
Our beautiful girl SILENT FLOWER (Anna) is having a great run with her latest Bombastic litter just hittihg the tracks. SF is a beautifully bred bitch - being by GO WILD TEDDY and out of Giles' great producer AHLEIGH JEANINE. A talented city winner herself, having to retire early after a bad injury, she is now producing the goods herself! In the last couple of weeks two pups from her latest litter have started to race - STETSON LILLY won her first start at Sandown in one of the hotly contested Kingston Trophy maiden heats, running a quick 29.86.
Her brother BARRIQUE won his Maiden heat at the Meadows in an excellent 30.04 and then continued on last Saturday night to take out the Maiden Final in fine style at the Meadows.
Both very exciting pups and there are more to come!
Both of these kids are in expert hands - Rob Britton is doing a great job with them!
Anna has a litter of Premier Style pups on her at the moment - needless to say we are pretty excited about them and can't wait for them to be old enought to start work...........
HOOVER KIDS
Congratulations to SUN RULER on his good win at Warragul in the capable hands of his new trainer, David Curtain.
Also to HOOVER IT who won a heat at Ballarat in BON.
And to VEUVE CLICQUOT who has won her last two starts including another heat at Ballarat on the same night Hoover It won.
Both Hoover it and Veuve are in the final next week.
And to CHI AMY who has had two wins within a couple of weeks.
PHILBY RUNS DOWN THE TAS SUPER PUP DAMEK
A brilliant run by PHILBY (Surf Lorian x CRYSTAL SIYAN) to actually run down the boom pup from Tassie - Damek - at Sandown on Thursday.!!
Fantastic effort!
Up until this week Damek had had seven starts for seven wins, running BONs and records in these runs. Philby is the very first to defeat him.
Taking nothing away from Damek, as he is obviously a great dog, but all credit to Philby for sticking at it, chasing his butt off and getting past him.
PITTER PATTER......................
Our treasured CRAFTY WITCH (Awesome Assassin x Star Witch), our litter sister to the fantastic up and coming sire PATH TO POWER, has given us a lovely litter of seven to the successful Irish DIGITAL.
All of Crafty Witch's first litter, by Token Prince, were winners and her second litter by Bombastic have broken in VERY well, from happy owner reports.
Digital has already proven to cross well with Awesome Assassin producing the great little Futurity winner Digital Magic, sadly deceased.
CW's litter brother, PATH TO POWER, has always been one of my favorite dogs and he is really proving that he is going to be an influential and successful sire with numerous winners, city and group winners and place getters and a track record breaker to his credit already!
So it looks like the family are really going to breed on!
ELUSIVE ROSE (Collision x Elusive Rebel) whelped on the same day and gave up a beautiful litter of eight by HEADBOUND, who is now one of the most successful sires in Ireland with group winners and track record breakers everywhere!! Many of his pups are winning distance and marathon races so he is throwing plenty of strength in his pups.
With the success of Brett Lee over Elusive Rebel, we thought that his brother Headbound would be a great cross, as we keep the Rebel/Sobbing Sal cross, which has been phenomenal, and add the extreme chase of the Head Honcho line
Fingers crossed!!
THE LATEST ON THE IMPORTS..............
Exciting news!
Final Zarkava and Westmead Era have decided to come into season. We actually hadn't expected to by able to breed then to next spring but ZARKAVA has been put to BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ and WESTMEAD ERA has been put to WHERE'S PEDRO.
All going well, their litters will be due in May.
MORE SIYAN KIDS TO RUSSIA....
We are honored that Russian connections have again chosen some of our pups to add to their racing and breeding programs over in Russia.
We have a Big Daddy Cool / SHOW STOPPER boy (COOL SHOW SIYAN) and a Bombastic Shiraz/LEMON CRUISER girl (BALATIKA SIYAN) going this week to be followed by a Bombastic boy out of HIGH TIDE HONEY and a girl from ELUSIVE ROSE by Headbound when they are big enough to travel.
The other four that have already gone over have settled in very well and are going great guns with some ready to race over the next few months.
OFF TO NEW HOMES.............
Thankyou and best of luck to the following people who have chosen Siyan pups recently...........
MARK SCHOLES has added three BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ/LEMON CRUISER pups and a BIG DADDY COOL/SHOW STOPPER boy to his collection!
BERNARD PLACE has chosen another three PACIFIC MILE/BLACK FANTASY pups who will join their brother and Bernard's Premier Fantasy/Rumble Siyan and Premier Fantasy /Royal Sal boys.
GAYLENE TOWNSEND has selected a beautiful big black PACIFIC MILE/BLACK FANTASY girl.
The GOLDEN PAW syndicate, headed up by Simon Ainsworth, have got themselves two PREMIER STYLE boys out of SILENT FLOWER.

RACING NEWS
Congratulations to our most recent winners -
Stuart Thompson's NATIONAL PENNY (Bombastic Shiraz x Lemon Cruiser) - another city winner for Lemon Cruiser, Penny won convincingly At Wenty this week.
Mark Scholes' STIMULATE (Token Prince x Steffi Grace) won a strongly contested heat for the Magic Maiden at Wenty.
Mark's ELEVATE (Big Daddy Cool x Fiesta Flex) also had a good win at Bathurst and his terrific dog FACIAL (Big Daddy Cool x Miss Forrester) had a great win at Cannington..
Max Macdonald-Johnson had a great run with BAM SIYAN (Elite State x Show Stopper) who won his heat AND final at Healesville recently.
Bam's litter sister ELITE SIYAN won at her second start for us at Warragul the week before so brother and sister both broke their maidens within a few days of each other!
LUCY BALL (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll) and HORNBLOWER (Bombastic x Lemon Cruiser) completed a winning double for owner trainers Brian and Debbie Selleck when they both won at the Meadows on a Saturday night. I believe the Selleck also trained another winner at that meeting so three wins on a Saturday at the Meadows - fantastic job!!
Congratulations to Michael Macguire!
You may remember we told you how Michael and bought two girls from us - CRYSTAL SIYAN and SPIRAL SIYAN and we went on to say how well Crystal Siyan has gone on to produce some fantastic pups including the impressive PHILBY...............
Well, Spiral Siyan is not far behind Crystal as far as producing some very good pups!
So far she has produced the very promising MYSTIC APPLE and a Vic breeders finalist CARLTON HERO) both by Hallucinate.
Good on you Michael and I hope they all keep going well for you!
How's this for a good effort!
Mark Scholes, who has bought many of our pups over the last few years and done very well with many of them, has had seventy three runners so far this year (its only April, remember) and he has amassed 32 wins, 18 seconds and 3 thirds!!! (Not just with Siyan bred pups but they have helped the numbers considerably!!)
Mark is a very busy business man who has his dogs and pups out with an excellent group of rearers and trainers who are obviously doing a great job for him.
He certainly can pick potential in a pup and he has some beautifully bred youngsters waiting in the wings plus an impressive group of broods.
Well done Mark!
IMPORT UPDATE
The four girls from Ireland/England are all home at Siyan now and they have all settled in beautifully!
FINAL ZARKAVA (Kewell x Oyster) has come into season so that made the decision on whether or not to race her much simpler!
Her damline consistently throws tremendous early pace and this girl showed she had the same sort of ability in early trials. The Ginger sire line has crossed well with the Irish lines so Bombastic Shiraz has been chosen for her first litter.
Zarkava's litter, although not two yet, are starting to rack up the wins with Katies Oyster, Delwood Sharleen and Derrrane Oyster starting to make their presence felt around the tracks.
WESTMEAD ERA (Scolari x Mega Delight) soon followed suit and came on season too! Because her dam line is renowned for strength and the Brett Lee/Gun Law Osti sire line is undeniably crossing well over the Irish lines, for her first litter, we have chosen Where's Pedro.
Era's litter is going great guns in England - W Bolt recently won at Shelbourne, W Grant has just won at Sittingbourne in the fastest time of the year so far and W Scolari recently won at Shawfield in the fastest time for the year!!
There is a lot of talk overseas about these three rising stars - let's hope they reach the highest levels! Their futures are certainly looking very bright.
WESTMEAD ZEST (Tom's The Best x Mega Delight) has settled in well and looks like she's been here all of her life.
She had a bit of a mishap though - tearing around her yard, pretending to still be a race dog, she just clipped the corner of her kennel and promptly broke her toe! Poor girl!
So she had a big thick bandage up her hind leg at present - although it certainly hasn't bothered her!
MINEOLA GRAND. (Brett Lee x Farloe Oyster) The last of the girls to arrive, she is quite a character and has also settled in very well. Now the weather has cooled down they are all a lot happier!
PITTER, PATTER............................
ELITE STATE X DANCE SIYAN
Bindy has given us a lovely litter of seven gorgeous babies by Elite State.
She is owned by Darren Macdonald and was trained by me for a good win at Sandown before she cracked her stopper bone.
A very strong, honest chaser we were just about to step her up in distance when she injured herself trialling.
Beautifully bred, Bindy would have to be one of the youngest Black Shiraz daughters alive and her wonderful dam, Dance Portrait needs no introduction.
We have already had good success with Elite State over the Black Shiraz. ES's early pace and Black Shiraz's chase and strength have combined to produce a very handy litter for us out of Show stopper which includes winners Marmion, Rocking Out, Bam Siyan and Elite Siyan.
Bindy is being a great mum to her colourful litter and all are doing well.
BREEDINGS AVAILABLE TO PREMIER STYLE
In case anyone is interested, we have available some straws to Premier Style. We are only asking one hundred and ten dollars, just to cover costs.
He is available thru frozen only.
He already has two litters on the ground (both had eight pups) , one due shortly and another in about eight weeks and there have been eight straws go out to breeders in the last few weeks.
COOL DRAUGHT
Sorry to hear this good dog (BDC x Miss Forrester) has broken his hock.
A litter brother to Grande Siyan, Suffocate, Facial, etc, has had a good career including 15 wins and 11 placings, quite a few BON.
He has gone home to re cuperate with his family, the Robinson;s, who love him dearly!
OFF TO NEW HOMES...............
Thankyou and best of luck to the following people with their new Siyan bred pups -
DRAGEN DODIC with a BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ/LEMON CRUISER boy and a PREMIER FANTASY/LEPRECHAUN GEM girl.
KAREN GRAHAM with an ELITE STATE /FIESTA FLEX boy.
DARYL GASPARI with a BRETT LEE/SPELLBOUND SIYAN girl.
SIMON AINSWORTH (GOLDEN PAWS SYNDICATES) with two more HADES ROCKET/ELUSIVE ELLE pups.
MARK SCHOLES with a PACIFIC MILE/BLACK FANTASY boy and two HEADBOUND/SPANISH SPIRAL boys.
BERNARD PLACE with a boy and girl from the PACIFIC MILE/BLACK FANTASY litter.
ROGER MCLAUGHLIN with an ELITE STATE/FIESTA FLEX boy.
Hope to see them on the track in the not too distant future!

MORE WINNERS THIS WEEK!
Congratulations (again!) to Mark Scholes as his Siyan kids continue on their winning way.....
INTELLECTUAL (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll) made it FOUR in a row with an excellent win in BON over the 530 at Canberra.
BURGAY (Bombastic Shiraz x Forrester Inc) made it TWO in a row with another convincing win, also at Canberra.
Congratulations to connections of CHEEKY RED (Bombastic Shiraz x Lemon Cruiser) who had another good win at Traralgon in 29.93, after a rough and tumble affair the week before where she was badly checked..
Well done to connections of CHEERY (Hoover x Nessie) who won her maiden at Sale last week.
Congratulations to connections of PASSITO (Bombastic Shiraz x Silent Flower) on his excellent win on BON at Cranbourne. This boy is really starting to hit his straps under the guidance of top trainer Rob Britton.

NOT FAR OFF TEN THOUSAND...........
Just saw that the amount of "hits" on this website is fast approaching the ten thousand mark which I think is pretty "impressive" and I believe its due to the wonderful work done by our web designer and maintenance girl Amy Gorman, who owns and runs IMPRESSIVE WEB DESIGN.
I met Amy through our mutual interest in the Arabian horses. She was just starting off doing websites for some horse breeders and I asked her if she might be interested in doing one for me for our greyhounds.
The rest is history! She has done a brilliant job and she has the patience of a saint - putting up with me constantly changing my mind, adding things, panicking with last minute bits of news, etc.
Amy started off just doing this part time but she has become so successful that she has started up a business and now does websites full time!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Amy, for doing such an awesome job with our website and for being so wonderful to deal with!
AND, to anyone who is thinking about getting an affordable and well done website up and running, you really should have a chat to Amy before you decide where to go.
Her contact details for Impressive Web design are - Email amy@impressivewebdesign.com.au, Phone 0404 206 006 or visit her site by clicking here.

MORE WINNERS...................
Congratulations to Tim Conn on ROCKING OUT'S maiden final win at Shep! She is by ELITE STATE and out of SHOW STOPPER and is a member of a highly promising litter that includes MARMION, BAM SIYAN and MESCAL SIYAN. The Coburn's beautiful brindle boy MARMION is the star of the litter so far, but ROCKING OUT isn't far away!
And they're not two years old yet!
Congratulations to connections of PASSITO who has racked up two wins recently, including an excellent 30.11 win at the meadows. he is by Bombastic Shiraz and out of SILENT FLOWER. SF has just presented us with a lovely litter of premier Style pups - see below.
Congratulations to Mark Scholes as he continues on his winning way with his Siyan bred babies - INTELLECTUAL (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll) makes it three in a row with another exciting win. This time by over seven lengths and in BON!
Well done to connections of MISS GRIZWALD(Surf Lorian /Bell Pepper who has recently won two in a row with her second win being in BON time.
I believe she is the first of Bell pepper's pups to race.
OFF TO NEW HOMES..................
Congratulations, thankyou and best of luck to these people who have chosen Siyan bred greyhounds as their next potential champion...
NEVILLE MORGAN with the exceptional JUSTICE SIYAN, a stunning young black dog who broke in extremely well. Justice is by JUST THE BEST and out of ELUSIVE ELLE, our litter sister to Pure Octane and Where's Hoover.
He is just about to go in to pre training with Sam Bonnecurso. At this stage, this boy has a HUGE future!
SIMON AINSWORTH and the boys with a total of four BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ/LEMON CRUISER pups, a HADES ROCKET / ELUSIVE ELLE dog, and three PACIFIC MILE / BLACK FANTASY pups!
Simon has already purchased a Droopy's Kewell/Black Fantasy girl who is almost ready to race and looking very promising , and a Bombastic Shiraz/ Stunning Style boy.
A big thankyou from us for having such faith in our dogs and our breeding program.
STUART MILLS with a BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ/STUNNING STYLE girl.
BERNARD PLACE with the beautiful WINKY SIYAN - a daughter of SURF LORIAN and ELLE SIYAN, Winky had already shown Bernard's good judgment by winning her second start for him. Well done!
DEAN HIGGINBOTTOM with three BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ / HIGH TIDE HONEY pups.
WENDY HOGAN with GRACE SIYAN (Token Prince x Steffi Grace)
MARK SCHOLES with two ELITE STATE / FIESTA FLEX pups.
CHERYL WEBB with a PREMIER FANTASY / RUMBLE SIYAN girl and a WHERE'S PEDRO / FIESTA FLEX girl.
TERRY FITZGERALD with a WHERE'S PEDRO / ELLE SIYAN boy.
STUART THOMPSON with a BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ/LEMON CRUISER girl. Stuart already has the little star NATIONAL PENNY who is from Lemon Cruiser's previous Bombastic litter. When you're on a good thing, stick to it, hey Stuart!!
JIM ABSALOM with a WHERE'S PEDRO / ELLE SIYAN boy.
PETER WADDEN with a BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ/LEMON CRUISER girl.
Please keep in touch and let us know how your kids are going!
MORE PITTER PATTERING.............
Its been a bit more exciting than usual here with the arrival of PREMIER STYLE'S first two litters!
BELL PEPPER, a race winning litter sister to GURU and RUNWAY MODEL being by Larkhill Jo and out of Steffi Grace, has just had a litter of eight little beauties - blacks, white and blacks and a white and fawn!
Bell Pepper's first and only pup to race, so far, MISS GRIZWALD, has recently won two in a row (one in BON). Her second litter by Black Enforcer are not ready to race yet.
The combination of Premier Fantasy, Stunning Style, Larkhill Jo and Elusive Rebel as the grand parents of these pups will hopefully help them on their way to be successful race dogs!
SILENT FLOWER, a very special girl being by Go Wild Teddy and out of the Giles' super brood ASHLEE JEANINE has had eight beautiful black pups. SF is a super hard chasing city winner who was sadly retired early in her career after an injury, after winning a Vic breeders heat. She has produced city winners herself, including EXTRAVAGANT MISS and PASSITO.
Her dam, Ashlee Jeanine, is the dam of the extremely tough Group dog REGAL RICKY (litter brother to SF) and MID CITY MANDY etc but it is her daughters that are proving their worth as top producers. Some of the top racedogs out of Ashlee Jeanine daughters include VINTAGE OCTANE, PADDY'S FLAME, OCTANOL, WINOKI, LOCHINUI, etc.
You would be hoping there might be a couple of special ones in this litter by Premier Style with the breeding they have behind them.
We've got our fingers crossed!
BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ X HIGH TIDE HONEY
High Tide Honey (Surf Lorian x Floodfawn) was a wonderful race bitch for us, with wins at Sandown, the Meadows, Traralgon, Sale and Geelong with many of those wins in BON times.
She was a very gutsy chaser with plenty of early speed.
Beautifully bred she is a litter sister to the group dogs OVERFLOW BREAKER and NORTH SEA. and a daughter of Brood Bitch of the Year - the wonderful Floodfawn.
Floodfawn , when put to Bombastic Shiraz, produced the awesome stayer and Greyhound of the Year FLASHING FLOODS, so these pups are very closley related to that phenomenal race bitch.
HTH has had a litter to Brett Lee, which are not a long way off going to the breakers and this Bombastic litter is her second.
High hopes for these kids!
AHANE LAD X SOBBING CREEK
A special litter for us as it will be the last for our treasured litter sister to HEADBOUND, SOBBING CREEK, (Head Honcho x Sobbing Sal).
As the Headbound/Larkhill Jo cross has proven to be magic in Ireland, with numerous group winners with plenty of early pace combined with the strength to run out the distance races, we chose one of his fastest sons AHANE LAD for Queenie's last litter.
The added bonus with Ahane Lad is that he is out of a litter sister to the sire of Premier Fantasy, Premier County, and this gives us a damline to the famously tenacious American line going back to Wise Memory, a line made so successful with the judicious breeding of the master Pat Dalton.
Queenie has had three big fat black girls - valuable additions to the race and breeding plans further down the track.

RACING NEWS
THIS WEEKS WINNERS!
Congratulations ot owners, trainers and connections of the following Siyan bred pups who have all had goods wins over the last week or so. Thankyou for doing such a great job with our kids!
WINKY SIYAN (Surf Lorian x Elle Siyan) only left us a few weeks ago for her new home in Tassy and she has already proven her new owner's good judgement with winning her maiden last week in fine style!
CHEEKY RED (Bombastic Shiraz x Lemon Cruiser) absolutely flew home at Tratalgon to win her maiden (only her second start) by OVER TWELVE LENGTHS0 in the fantastic time of 29.85!
Lemon Cruiser is proving to be a gem with most of the pups to race all winning their maidens by OVER TEN LENGTHS!!
Others to keep watching are National Penny and Intoxicate. Mescal Siyan will hopefully be making her debut soon, if her back muscle holds together. Fingers crossed!
LC's second Bombastic litter (same breeding as above) have just been ear branded and are heading off to their new homes over the next couple of weeks. Being such a big litter, there is still one boy and two girls left available.
ICEMAN COOL - (Big Daddy Cool x Fiesta Flex) had a great win at Albion Park being only .01 0ff BON. He is Fiesta Flex's first city winner. The whole litter is going very well and it will just be a matter of time before some more hit the city tracks.
RED TIGER - (Cromlah Bale x Stunning Style) A big win in his second start, blitzing the field to win his Maiden over in NZ by over eight lengths.
SS only had the one pup in this litter and he is certainly flying the flag for his mum.
She has not had a pup race that has not won a race!
SUMMARISE (Premier Fantasy x Black Fantasy) is back to her winning ways with a good win at the ACT last week.
INTELLECTUAL (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll) had another good win at Canberra last week running BON over the 500!
18 February 2010
VALE - COUGAR SIYAN
On a very sad note - we offer our condolences to Mark Scholes and trainer Peter Seiben, on the loss of my beautiful Cooper.
Coops was a favorite from the day he was born, A very special boy who grew into a stunning and very promising dog who Mark bought from us soon after he broke in especially well.
It was a very difficult decision to let him go n the first place - I just loved that pup!
Terrible, terrible luck the poor boy fell badly at Sale and could not be saved. RIP dear Coops.
NEWS
THE FOURTH UK GIRL FINALLY ARRIVES!
Finally our fourth UK girl arrived in quarantine last week.
She is a beautiful black girl MINEOLA GRAND, who is by BRETT LEE and out of the incredible FARLOE OYSTER.
We are blessed to now have two Oyster daughters and we wish to thank Seamus Mc Closkey, from the well known Mineola Stud, for allowing us to have the outstanding girl here.
Grand was raced very sparingly as a baby (pre two year old) and won a heat of the prestigious Tyur Ted Puppy Derby in great fashion, running an excellent time and winning by a good four lengths over some very good youngsters.
She came in season shortly after that so Seamus bred her to Hondo Black (a dog I dearly wish we could have access to over here) so she has a very exciting litter of pups in Ireland who we will watch very closely!
Grand is a litter sister to the exceptional young dog FARLOE LEE, who broke the track record at Ladbroke when he won the hotly contested Ladbroke Puppy Derby. Injury has side lined him but I hear he is ready to make a comeback - a dog with a lot of potential.
I can't wait to get Grand (and Era) home!
ZEST AND ZARKAVA AT HOME!
After a long thirty days in quarantine, with me driving in every second day to exercise the three girls (Era, Zest and Zarkava) time was up and they were allowed to come home.
Well two of them, anyway.
(Its a long story about Era which I can't say much about at this stage but suffice to say, there was a problem on AQIS's part and the poor girl has to stay for another twenty one days.......)
All will be revealed at a later date.
But, at least, two came home and are now enjoying running around in grassy yards and being allowed to be dogs!
All four of the girls have the sweetest temperaments and the two here have settled in beautifully.
Now, to try and pick the best hubbies for them all..............
PITTER PATTER OF LITTLE PAWS....................
PREMIER FANTASY X LEPRECHAUN GEM
We are very excited to announce the arrival of eleven beautiful black babies by PREMIER FANTASY and out of one of our very special girls LEPRECHAUN GEM.
Gem is a city winning member of one of the most successful and well known litters of recent times - the BRETT LEE/ LEPRECHAUN YAP litter that includes BETTY'S ANGEL, LEPRECHAUN PACE, MISS MINNIE MOUSE, GLOBAL WARMING AND FAST INDIAN.
We have a lot of faith in Gem as a brood, with her beautiful breeding, and it has been wonderful (but not surprising) to watch the next generation - the Leprechaun Yap grand kids starting to rack up the wins.(First and second in the prestigious Vic Breeders at Sandown recently went to Leprechaun Yap grand get.)
Gem has had one litter, with only two pups, to Token prince and she has produced a city winner from that litter already.
It certainly seems the Yap daughters are going to breed on..................
(Although a number of these pups were pre ordered, we have been blessed with a large litter so there will be a limited number available for purchase.)
AHANE LAD X FORRESTER INC
Ella is another girl extra dear to out hearts as she was our first ever winner!!
A lovely red girl, she is by AWESOME ASSASSIN and out of our own matriarch MISS FORRESTER. Ella won a number of races for us, even with me being a newbie trainer and somewhat of a handicap!
AHANE LAD is a superb black import with superlative breeding and a fantastic race record.
He is by LARKHILL JO and out of out a litter sister to PREMIER COUNTY, the sire of PREMIER FANTASY - bred in the purple!
An incredibly fast dog himself he is now proving to be an impressive sire with group winners in the Ireland and an exciting crop of youngsters coming thru here in Australia.
As with most imported dogs and semen in Australia, it will be hard for him to make a big impact over here as a sire, purely and simply because he won't get the numbers our homegrown boys can get - but I still think he will make a name for himself here.
I felt that Ella's beautiful Australian breeding could do with an outcross now and Ahane Lad was my choice for her. (Our litter sister to HEADBOUND (Head Honcho x Sobbing Sal) SOBBING CREEK, is due any day to Ahane Lad as well.)
Ella whelped in NSW, at the stunning property of Glen and Tanya Starr's and they have done a wonderful job with her and he eight striking AL babies.
Thankyou Glen and Tanya!
BACK FROM THE BREAKERS!
We usually break our own pups in but it is getting harder and harder to find the time to do a good job. So, we took the big step of sending some pups out.( I say big step because I am hopeless with our dogs - hate to let them out of my sight!!)
We sent two Just The Best/Elusive Elles and a Pedro/Spanish Spiral to Stuart Mills at Tooradin and he has done a good job. WHEW! (I am always so nervous when I send our kids ANYwhere!)
The pups came back in excellent condition, happy and full of beans and going REALLY well.
So much so that the three of them are right up in the top bracket for times run there with breakers.
The two girls broke in as well as dogs the caliber of Lord Ducal and Fedex and the dog was about four lengths faster than them.
So we are very pleased.
We now have two Hallucinates and a Premier Fantasy over with Stewie.
We'll keep you posted.
CRYSTAL SIYAN
Congratulations to Michael Macguire on how well his little girl CRYSTAL SIYAN is producing for him.
Crystal is by Bombastic Shiraz and out of the Futurity winner CRYSTAL LIGHT.
Michael bought Crystal from us after breaking in, along with a Spiral Nikita daughter called Spiral Siyan (who has also produced winners). Both were unraced but beautifully bred. These two girls were Michael's first greyhounds and he bought them both to breed from further down the track.
Michael bred Chrystal to Surf Lorian for starters and that litter has started of so well. It includes HOW MANY TIMES who is clocking up wins and PHILBY who has had three city wins in a row (two at Sandown and one at the Meadows) including winning the prestigious Kingston Trophies Maiden Series at Sandown in 30.01.
So there you go - a bitch does NOT have to be a super star or a city winner or even a country winner to be able to produce good pups!!
Good breeding goes a LONG way!
Keep up the good work Michael.
THE WINNERS KEEP COMING......
Congratulations to Mark Scholes with recent Siyan bred winners ELEVATE (BDC x Fiesta Flex), INTELLECTUAL (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll), and BURGAY (Bombastic Shiraz x Forrester Inc).
Our own MARLEE VALLEY (Collision x Rumble Ciarrai (IRE)) won her Maiden heat at Bendigo last week. A good effort considering she has pulled up quite sore after getting bumped around coming thru to the lead.
She broke a stopper bone long before she came to siyan, and it has been a job keeping her happy on it. Even so, she is such an honest race dog and such a ferocious chaser, she never fails to put in a good run.
Hopefully she will come good.
Well done to KANGA FORCE (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll) and connections for his recent win at Healesville!
SIYAN DOLL (Larkhill Jo x Delrae Doll) has had two winners in the last few days - this boy and INTELLECTUAL!
All of her pups to race, so far, have won and her son SIMBA SIYAN is shaping up well, over in Russia.
Speaking of injuries.....
Many trainers have commented on the high amount of injuries they are copping this year - with lack of rain and concrete hard tracks being one possible cause.
We have had our fair share too.
Marlee Valley has the stopper we are dealing with.
Fantasia Siyan has constantly battled with her elbow since breaking it as a youngster and she pulled up very sore after leading all the way and just dropping back coming out of the home turn to run second at Cranbourne.
Three weeks off for her now!
X Ray Vision came to us after already breaking her hock as a youngster. Albeit a bit naughty in the boxes, she was running some excellent times, won two field trials easily and was just about ready to race when that hock cracked again late last year.
We treated it, spelled her and got the all clear from the vet, only to have her trial very well last week (after a very slow and careful return to work and galloping) and pull up sore with that hock causing her grief again!!
The definition of Frustration.................. training greyhounds!
(Sometimes!!) :-)

VALE - TRADE (Bluebell)
Condolences to Mark Scholes on the tragic loss of his BDC/Integrity Lass girl TRADE whom he bought from Siyan when she was about ten months old. Bluebell, as we called her, had been doing well, with four wins to date, but irreparably fractured her hind leg in a race about a fortnight ago. Sadly, it was inoperable and Mark was forced to make the hard decision of letting her go.
She was always such a sweet, bouncy girl - full of life and so affectionate.
We are very sad to hear of her passing.
RIP Bluebell.
MORE WINNERS FOR SIYAN
Congratulations to STUART THOMPSON on another excellent win with NATIONAL PENNY last week at Richmond. Again, displaying her great strength, she came through from fifth to run them down and win by three lengths..
Penny is by BOMBASTIC and out of LEMON CRUISER.
Congratulations to MARK SCHOLES on yet another of his Siyan bred pups having a good win. This time is was ELEVATE (BDC x Fiesta Flex) who ran an excellent race and time to win at Dapto recently.
This litter from Fiesta Flex is doing very well with everyone to race a winner!
Fiesta Flex is by the US import GALILEE and out of NATASHA BALE, a maternal sister to SUELLEN BALE.
Fi has a litter of ELITE STATE'S on her at the moment - eleven bouncing kids!

PRECIOUS NEW ARRIVALS
With great excitement we can now announce that three of the four bitches we have managed to find and bring to Australia have arrived!
It has take n three long years, of research, studying, searching, phone calls, emails, begging (yes begging) to get hold of daughters of two of the world’s most famous and successful brood bitches, namely MEGA DELIGHT and FARLOE OYSTER.
In brief, Mega Delight (Smooth Rumble x Knockeveen Joy) was a top race bitch herself and is the dam of the champions WESTMEAD HAWK, WESTMEAD AOIFA, WESTMEAD JOE, WESTMEAD LORD, WESTMEAD JO, WESTMEAD OLIVIA etc. Eighty one per cent of her progeny to race have been major/ feature race winners.
Farloe Oyster (Top Honcho x Farloe Dingle) has created her own dynasty with progeny the caliber of FARLOE REASON, FEAR ZAFONIC, NINJA JAMUE, FARLOE HURRICANE, FARLOE MIRROR, etc. Again, she has a staggeringly high percentage of group winners, extremely fast sons and daughters.
The importation of these bitches represents a wonderful opportunity for Australian breeders to finally be able to tap into the phenomenal dam lines so close up – as no other Mega Delight or Oyster daughters have ever managed to make it here.
The three girls that have arrived are;
WESTMEAD ZEST (out of Mega Delight) is a magnificent big brindle bitch (very reminiscent of her wonderful mother) by the top sire and race dog TOM’ THE BEST. She is a three quarter sister to the incomparable WESTMEAD HAWK and she is the winner of eleven races, being a group winning stayer with a ton of ability and strength.
She recently won her last start in England, and we have now retired her from the race track.

Westmead Zest at the quarantine station, in the exercise yard, the day after arriving in Australia.
WESTMEAD ERA (out of Mega Delight) is a lovely black bitch by the sire of the moment DROOPY’S SCOLARI. Only raced sparingly but enough for us to be happy with her ability, she won five of her races by the time she was two years old, so we have chosen to retire her as well. Her value to us is as a brood. She is a litter sister to the up and coming stars WESTMEAD BOLT, GRANT AND SCOLARI.

Westmead Era having a break in the shade in her kennel.
FINAL ZARKAVA (Out of Farloe Oyster) is a stunning big blue girl by one of my all time favorite (and world famous) sires DROOPY’S KEWELL. Zarkava is the baby of the group, only eighteen months old. She has shown some brilliance in her trials so we may put her back into work and see how she fares over her as a race dog before joining the other girls in the brood barn.

Final Zarkava having a play in the exercise yard.
Once the fourth girl is finalized (blood tests etc) we will let you know all about her too.
Zest, Era and Zarkava arrived in Australia on the 13th of January and now they must stay in quarantine at Spotswood in Melbourne for thirty days. Visits are only allowed twice a week so I am there Mondays and Thursdays taking them for walks and getting to know them.
They all seem to be coping quite well but I can’t wait to get them home.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Nick Savva, Alan Gay and Alison Cox for being so wonderful to deal with and for allowing us to have these very special young ladies.
We would also like to thank and recommend Bob Ghandour and Catherine Allway from PET AIR UK who did an awesome job co ordinating and getting the three girls here and for putting up with my obsessive worrying!!
The future is looking very exciting at Siyan!

RACING NEWS MORE WINNERS!
ANOTHER CITY WINNER FOR HOOVER!
Big congratulations to owner Robert Conway and trainer Keith Lloyd on PURE TASTE's (out of trew brew by Black Shiraz) great win at the MEADOWS last Saturday night over the 600 metre trip.
Fantastic effort!.
LEMON CRUISER DAUGHTER WINS BY OVER NINE LENGTHS!
Fantastic run by Stuart Thompson's gutsy little girl NATIONAL PENNY to take out a maiden heat (second start) at Richmond in the great time of 30.80. Not only did she win in a good time but she came from behind to FLY home and win by over nine lengths!
Stuart and his trainer have a VERY high opinion of Penny and have ear marked her as a group level stayer further down the track.
Penny is another of the BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ/LEMON CRUISER liter that are going so well.
Well done Stuart, we will look forward to watching as Penny's promising career blossoms. Good luck in the final!
ANOTHER WIN FOR INTOXICATE
Well done to connections on yet ANOTHER good win for the lovely pup INTOXICATE. This is his second win in a row at Sandown, he is going great guns.
Yes - another of that Bombastic/Lemon Cruiser litter!
ANOTHER WIN FOR MARMION
The impressive brindle pup MARMION had another win, this time at Healesville - so that two wins and a third from three starts. Impressive stuff. This pup is by ELITE STATE and out of our Black Shiraz daughter SHOW STOPPER.
Well done and good luck in the final guys!
TWO MORE HOOVER WINNERS!
Congratulations to connections of KONGO (out of Nessie) who had a good win cracking his maiden at Warrnambool last week and also to ASSIGNMENT (out of Aromet Queen) who recently had a good win at Mandurah in the best time of the night!

RACING NEWS
Another terrifc win for INTOXICATE, the second in a row, at Sandown this week. The Bombastic Shiraz/Lemon Cruiser boy is going beautifully.
Congratulations to all connections!
GRANDE SIYAN - S.A. GREYHOUND OF THE MONTH!
Great to see - he is such an honest dog who deserves the recognition!
Congratulations to owners Jess and Richard Peil's on Thomas's (BDC x Miss Forrester) success!
PREMIER STYLE BRED TO TWO TOP SIYAN BROODS
I know its a long wait to even see if they are in pup BUT all going well, Premier Style will have two litters due in about nine weeks.
The first will be from BELL PEPPER our treasured daughter of LARKHILL JO and STEFFI GRACE, tragically deceased. SG was by Brett Lee and out of Elusive Rebel and she was the most successful race bitch from that awesome litter that also produced HALLUCINATE, WHERE'S PEDRO, CARNAGE, CRASH etc.
Bell Pepper was a winning sister from the litter that produced Paul Westerfelde's RUNWAY MODEL and Darren Macdonald's GURU.
Premier Fantasy has already proven to be a fantastic cross with Larkhill Jo AND Brett Lee and this litter will combine both with a cross to Awesome Assassin and a double up to Wee Sal.
The second litter will be from the powerful city winner SILENT FLOWER (Go Wild Teddy x AHLEE JEANINE) She is a litter sister to the notable race dog REGAL RICKY who was a placegetter and/or finalist in the Top Gun, Maturity, Traralgon Cup, Wangaratta Cup, SA Derby, Easter Egg, Australia Cup and National Sprint Championship.
She is a maternal sister to group winner MID CITY MANDY and MY GIRL GEORGINA,( dam of VINTAGE OCTANE, WINOKI, LOCHINUI, MISTER TWINK etc,) and MISS HOLLY, (dam of PADDY'S FLAME)
She has already produced a city winner herself.
We know what Premier Style can do on the track so we are happy to give him some special girls to start off his career as a sire. Fingers crossed he can produce some of his freakish ability in his kids!

RACING NEWS
LEMON CRUISER BABIES FLYING!
Fantastic to see INTOXICATE run 29.99 at Sandown to blitz the field by TWELVE lengths at his second start.
Ironically he ran third in his first start to his litter brother HORNBLOWER who was having HIS first win at Sandown on the day!
Both boys are from the first litter of LEMON CRUISER (Awesome Assassin x Empty Schooner who is by Royal Assassin x Salmazar) and they are by BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ.
Two winners at Sandown in seven days isn't a bad effort for the girl and they are still only pups!
We had another brother here that broke in extremely well and has gone to Mark Scholes and his sister MESCAL SIYAN was shaping up very well until snapping the tendon at the bottom of her back muscle. She is on the long road to recovery at the moment.
Lemon Cruiser (Honey) was one of our first race dogs and she won at Warragul, Sale, Geelong and the Meadows for us before tragically doing a stopper bone after an extremely fast trial first time around Sandown.
We were all very excited when she stopped the clock at 29.80 on a slowish track, only to find her on three legs in the catching pen with a badly damamged stopper. So, that was the end of that!
But she is a lovley girl who is enjoying her retirment and actually has a litter of fourteen Bombastic babies with her right now.
A big congratulations and thankyou for doing such great jobs with our kids - to all the connections of INTOXICATE and HORNBLOWER.

RACING NEWS
Congratulations to Rosalie and Peter Franklin on their excellent win with CHI AMY at Ballarat. The little HOOVER daughter flew home to win by well over nine lengths in the fastest time of the day - 22.51
Best of luck in the final!
(Peter and Rosalie have recently purchased two beautiful Premier Fantasy boys from us. Peter trained Chi Amy to her win so it looks like the two boys are going to have every chance with the Franklins!)
FANTASIA FINALLY MAKES IT TO THE TRACK
Fantasia Siyan (Premier Fantasty x Black Fantasy) was one of the quickest break ins we have had. She chased hard and was particularly fast early so her future was looking very promising.
She went out for the usual spell after breaking in, only to be fooling around in her yard one day, landing awkwardly and hitting the fence to end up cracking her elbow.
We thought it was all healed and she was put into work, bringing her along slowly only to find that after trialling she would be quite sore in that joint.
After plenty of time and physio we got that right, had her just about ready for her maiden at Sandown and........................she came into season!! :-(
So, it seems to have taken forever to get Nelly in a race.
She finally got a start at Ballarat and she won her heat quite well, in second fastest time of the day (the Hoover girl Chi Amy had the fastest) BUT she was a little sore in that elbow again.
Hopefully we will be able to get her right for the final!
PREMIER STYLE REGISTERED FOR STUD DUTIES
Many of you will know the trials and tribulations we have had with Premier Style (Premier Fantasy x Stunning Style) - Jimmy.
He was a bit of a freak freak right from the start and impressed us all with the incredible trial times he was clocking up as a pup.
First time around Tooradin he went 21.21, in the middle iof winter. He ran 23.95 first time out of the boxes at Warragul.........
His first start for us was at Warragul where he won his maiden in fine style, running 24.04 on a slowish track.
But in the final, disaster struck and was the beginning of all of our woes with the boy.
While getting to the lead he was dragged back from behind and ended up in the middle of a crash that ended with one poor pup being put down. Jimmy had ripped the ligament clean off the front of his hock and the general consensus was that he was finished.
But thanks to Tom Meulman and Darren Macdonald, after many, many long months, we got Jimmy back on the track.
First up he won well at Warragul in BON, 24 dead BUT he pulled up very sore in the hock AND had broken his opposite fibula.
Back to the drawing board.......
After another long time off he started trialling - 24.70 first look at Sale, 25.39 at Geelong, 23.30 post to post at Sandown, 29.61 over the 500.
Two starts at Geelong saw him miss the start badly and get smashed from pillar to post. Even though he came home like a steam train he just missed out on places.
Was I doing something wrong?
I was worried that I might be holding the dog back so I asked Kel to take him for me.
Jimmy was again trialling amamzing times. Kel actually said that he truly believed he was the fastest dog in the country and trialled him against some of his best dogs, to have him run effortlessly and beat them.
He had a win at Sandown and after running 29.60 odd on a slow trial track at Trarlgon, he was entered there.
Along the back straight he was twelve lengths in front but something went amiss and he began to struggle - albeit still winning by six or seven lengths.
He came back home then, with another injury we now see was related to compensating for the hock.
Three months later and I had him back again - this time to win first up at Warragul running down Darren Macdonald's very promising Black Houdini, to run a blistering 23.84 BON.
He went 22.99 on a 400 slip at Trarlgon and he seemed fine so was entered for the Geelong Cup heats, with a few people thinking that he was not out of place vying for the Cup.
But it was not to be.
He failed to place but the swelling and not being able to get that hind leg on the ground in the catching pen after his heat told the story.............. Well, I have pretty much given up now!
But, because I do know what this dog is / was capapble of and because there have been quite a few knowlwdgeable breeders remark that you would HAVE to breed a litter or two from him, we have had him registered as a stud dog and for frozen semen.
We are putting him over Silent Flower (Go Wild Teddy x Ashleigh Jeanine) for starters and a couple of other breeders are putting him over their good broods so now we will just have to wait and see.....................
I am sure Jimmy's not going to mind - swapping a racing career with the easy life at home, relaxing, getting spoilt rotten and having the occasional girl friend!
I don't know how impressed Hoover is going to be................!!

MORE Winners!!
What a great week last week for Siyan bred kids on the track!!
Congratulations to MARK SCHOLES on his wins with BURGAY (Bombastic Shiraz x Forrester Inc), TRADE (BDC x Integrity Lass) and REGISTRATE (Surf Lorian x Elle Siyan) AND on a another great city win at Cannington with SUFFOCATE!
Congratulations to the Franklins on their win at Geelong with RUSH AROUND - another Hoover daughter who won well at Geelong.
Another brother to Suffocate MAXIMUS COOL (BDC x Miss Forrester) is one that slipped under the radar. Congratulations to owner/trainer Peter Gavin on his win at Geelong.
This is all very exciting - there is hardly a Siyan bred pup to race that hasn't won!
Well done to all the owners and trainers! Best of luck and continued success to you all!

ANOTHER SIYAN BRED WINNER!
Congratulations to John Sammut, the owner, and The Sellecks, the trainer on LUCY BALL'S TWO recent good wins - at Sandown and Cranbourne - both in excellent times!! Lucy is out of SIYAN DOLL (Larkhill Jo x Delrae Doll) and by HALLUCINATE! This is Penny's first litter and all pups to race from this litter have won, so far and one of the pups SIMBA SIYAN has gone to Russia! Sadly, we lost the girl we kept from this litter but we do have a Headbound girl out of Penny that we are very pleased with.

FLASH!
FIRST GROUP FINALIST FOR HOOVER!
PURE TASTE (Hoover x Trew Brew) just won her heat for the Ballarat Cup in fine style and is now running in the Group 2 Ballarat Cup Final next week! Congratulations to owner Robert Conway and trainer Keith Lloyd. Best of luck next week!!
BREAK INS
Without letting the cat out of the bag, we have some VERY big reports on some Siyan bred babies and a couple of very impressive Hoover kids who have broken in over the last few weeks - watch this space!!!
RACING
SHOW STOPPER'S FIRST WINNER!
Congratulations to the connections of MARMION on his VERY impressive first start win at Shepparton. The extremely talented youngster ran a good time and flashed past the post OVER NINE LENGTHS in front of the rest of the field!!
Marmion is by ELITE STATE and out of our Black Shiraz daughter SHOW STOPPER (Molly) who is out of Top Show Belle (Head Honcho x Hot Show Deb) who is a litter sister to NO INTENT. Marmion was a real standout in the litter (being the only brindle in a bunch of blacks may have had something to do with it!!) but there are a few of his litter brothers and sisters that are shaping up very nicely, as well. We'll keep you posted! Molly has just had a beautiful litter by Big Daddy Cool.
MISS FORRESTER ON A ROLL
Our beautiful old girl MISS FORRESTER had a great week last week with THREE winners in one week - including a group win and a city win. GRANDE SIYAN won the Gawler Cup, as reported, FACIAL won at Richmond and SUFFOCATE had a good win at Cannington. Especially special to us as the three brothers are from the very first litter we ever bred!
MORE WINNERS!
Congratulations to Mark Scholes on his two wins this week - TRADE (BDC x Integrity Lass) had another good win at Young and INTELLECTUAL (Hallucinate x Siyan Doll) won his second start, after running third on his debut, at Canberra over the 530.
Congratulations to the Mooneys with PREMIUM BOND (Bond x Miss Forrester) on his Maiden win at Healesville last week.
ANOTHER DEBUTANTE WINNER FOR HOOVER Congratulations to connections of RUSH AROUND who won her debut at Ballarat this week. She is by Hoover and out of Bewilder Me (Solve The Puzzle x Golden Moneybags)
WHELPING NEWS
FIESTA FLEX (Galilee US x Natasha Bale) has given us a wonderful litter of eleven beautiful babies by ELITE STATE - five boys and five girls. For some info on Fi, see below. Fi's first litter by BDC are showing remarkable ability so we felt that using another Just The Best son was a good way to go and we have been very pleased with the other Elite State pups we have here.
ELUSIVE ELLE has delivered six gorgeous kids (four girls and two boys) by one of THE up and coming sires in Ireland HADES ROCKET. Ironically, Hades Rocket is an Australian dog, by Brett Lee and out of the wonderful brood SOUND THE ALARM. A winner of the Australian Cup before leaving our shores - he is now proving very successful with some extremely talented youngsters emerging. PURE INSPIRATION, one of Darren Mac's super stars (although side lined at the moment with an injury) is by Pure Octane (litter brother to Elusive Elle) and he is out of SOUND LEE (a litter sister to Hades Rocket). His whole litter to race have won and are a very impressive group pf pups. Because of the proven success of the cross, we have replicated it, only reversed!! High hopes for these kids!
BLACK FANTASY (Elite State x Elusive Rebel) has blessed us with an enormous litter - THIRTEEN- to the remarkable stud dog PACIFIC MILE US/IRE (Head Honcho x Wise Beauty). In my eyes, Pacific Mile combines the best of both worlds - he has the extreme chase and early pace of Head Honcho, combined with the strength, soundness and even more chase of the American blood in the Pat Dalton line. This "American" line is the same blood that courses thru Premier Fantasy's veins, and I believe it plays a big part in why Premier Fantasy is so successful over here, more so than any other Irish sire of recent times. The Wise Beauty /Wise Memory line is responsible for Droopy's Beauty (by Droopy's Vieri) who has been a top notch broody in Ireland with progeny the caliber of SI SENOR, CALZAGHE FRISBY, etc.
We are very lucky to have been able to get hold of a lovely Digital daughter who is out of a LITTER SISTER to DROOPY'S BEAUTY, LARKSONG. This little girl LEICA YANKEE now gives us access to one of the best damlines in the world.
Thankyou to Tony Comito for letting Tilly join us here at Siyan! AHANE LAD, who has just sired a track record breaker in Ireland, also has that same damline, through his dam Daffodil Dance, who is out of Wise Plan - a litter sister to Wise Beauty. So this is a very special and exciting litter for us, particularly seeing that I think this was possibly the last Pacific Mile straw in Australia.
LEMON CRUISER (Awesome Assassin x Empty Schooner (Royal Assassin x Salmazar) has just delivered a record for Siyan - FOURTEEN pups! Poor girl! The blacks and fawns are by the sire of the moment BOMBASTIC SHIRAZ and this is a repeat mating as we are very impressed with the first litter who are now in pre training.
Between Black Fantasy's thirteen and Lemon Cruiser's fourteen - that's twenty seven pups in six days! I feel like the baby bottle has become permanently attached to my hand as we seem to be constantly topping up these hungry little mouths! But, its all worth it! :-)
BREEDINGS
LEPRECHAUN GEM (BRETT LEE X LEPRECHAUN YAP ) will hopefully be bred to PREMIER FANTASY this week.
FORRESTER INC (AWESOME ASSASSSIN X MISS FORRESTER) has just been bred to AHANE LAD (Ire).
INTEGRITY LASS (TOKEN PRINCE X THAI CHARM ) has just been bred to SOLVE THE PUZZLE.
OFF TO NEW HOMES
Thankyou and best of luck to these happy new owners -
DEAN HIGGINBOTTOM with his HADES ROCKET x ELUSIVE ELLE pup.
MARK SCHOLES with his HEADBOUND boy out of SIYAN DOLL and his PATH TO POWER boy out of PETITE SIYAN.
RANDELL and SHIRLEY SELLINGS with the dear little YEAH SIYAN.
ALAN FERGUSON with the Bombastic girl TYRA SIYAN.
HELEN HAYDEN with the girls RIGHT WAY GLORIA and TOKAY SIYAN.
SIMON KARACIC with his two new boys - both by PREMIER FANTASY with one out of ROYAL SAL and one out of RUMBLE SIYAN.
PETER FRANKLIN with the same as Simon - two PF boys - one from Royal Sal and one from Rumble Siyan.
CAROL and VICTOR GAY with their two PEDRO boys out of ELLE SIYAN.
SID TOPP with his BRETT LEE boy out of HIGH TIDE HONEY.
RICHARD PEIL with his two PEDRO boys out of ELLE SIYAN.
DARYL and GALE ANNELLS with their BOMBASTIC boy out of STUNNING STYLE.
SIMON AINSWORTH with his litter brother to Daryl and Gale's boy - BOMBASTIC X STUNNING STYLE.
Please make sure you all keep in touch and let us know how the kids are going!
18 November 2009
OUR FIRST GROUP WINNER!!!
BIG excitement all round with GRANDE SIYAN taking out the Gawler Cup, in fine style, on Sunday.
Thomas jumped from box seven and took off like a rocket. It was all over for the others as he hit the lead and away he went.
We are so excited and proud of the boy.
A big congratulations to his owners Richard and Jess Peil, who managed to buy Thomas from us not that long ago. And a big congratulations to his trainer Ozzie Chegia, who did a marvelous job with the boy!
Thomas is from the very first litter we ever bred - Big Daddy Cool x Miss Forrester.
We are blessed - a group winner from our first litter!
Sets a high standard fro the others! :-)
FACIAL WINS AT RICHMOND!
One of Thomas's litter brothers FACIAL also did well on the weekend , winning at Richmond over the 600 for his owner Mark Scholes and trainer Ian Mc Farlane.
Well done guys!
MISS FORRESTER (Affy)has been so good to us and given us so much pleasure and enjoyment through her pups and her just being here - she is such a dear old character!
Her first litter for us has been fantastic and now we have our first second generation Siyan pups - grand kids of Affy - being by Path To Power and out of one of Affy's daughters from that first litter - PETITE SIYAN.
Unfortunately, poor Affy has just had to go through an operation on her hock, to remove a benign tumor that was starting to interfere with the movement of the joint.
It did knock her around for a little while but, tough as she is, she is bouncing back and ruling the roost, as usual!!
FIESTA FLEX HAS ANOTHER WINNER!
Congratulations to connections of ICE MAN COOL (Big Daddy Cool x Fiesta Flex) who has just had another good win at Lismore on the weekend! That's two wins and a third from four starts! Great stuff!
Fiesta Flex is one of our most beautiful looking girls - big and elegant, pure white except for some small brindle patches.
I believe that the American dogs can play an important part in our breeding program as I think they can add strength, chase and soundness so Fi, who is by the good American dog GALILEE, was added to the team to introduce some of that American blood.(She is also from an outstanding damline - that of Paul Wheelers and she goes back to his grand matriarch DYNABOLT.)
Galilee was a phenomenal race dog himself and is by HB'S COMMANDER - one of the strongest and most prepotent sire lines in the US for years.
I think part of the reason for Premier Fantasy's success in Australia, is due to the fact that he carries some American blood through Pat Dalton's exceptional line with Wise Plan being his grand dam. She is also by HB's Commander.
We have recently used PACIFIC MILE who is also from that damline and AHANE LAD who is out of a litter sister to Premier Fantasy's sire, giving him that same cross (HB's Commander over a Dalton bitch).
We have a young "pure "American pup here as well, who may become an interesting part of the breeding program, depending on how she shapes up on the track. She is by CLAPPIN THUNDER and out of a FLYING PENSKE daughter who is out of a sister to OSWALD COBBLEPOT. She actually carries two crosses to HB's Commander.
Iceman Cool is from Fi's first litter. She has some very nice Where's Pedros who are about nine months old and she has just had a stunning litter of eleven Elite States.
Watchout for more of Fi's BDC kids about to hit the tracks.
11 November 2009
TWO IN A ROW
Congratulations to Craig Fordham with his good little girl ARMATREE ELLE winning her last two starts. (So that's two from two with a second and a third.) Elle (Sally) is by SURF LORIAN and out of our FLOODFAWN daughter ELLE SIYAN. Sally is from Saffy's first litter with a few more from that litter just about ready to race. She has a litter of Where's Pedros that are about thirteen weeks old now. Best of luck wth Sally, Craig! Keep up the good work!
6 November 2009
TO RUSSIA WITH LOVE...................!
We are very excited to announce that we have just exported four Sian bred greyhounds to Russia!
It is the very first importation ever of Australian greyhounds to Russia and we are very honored that they have chosen these four pups to refresh the breeding program over there.
it is planned for all four to race and then become an important part of one of the major breeding programs in Russia!
Congratulations to owner/trainer Craig Elliot who has just had a good win with his pup JERSEY BOY! JB was selected by Craig as a baby and he has done all the work himself and done a great job at it with JB running a good third in his first start and going very well to win his second start convincingly at Ballarat.
JB is by BDC and out of Integrity Lass (Token Prince x Thai Charm - see below) so she is going great guns with two pups to race so far (TRADE and JERSEY BOY) for two winners!
With one daughter (HOW BAZAR) winning on the Friday, SS has had a good week with another daughter GOZOFF running a great race and time to win well at Maitland only a few days after How Bazar's run. Congratulations to owner /trainer Greg Agius!
this lovely white and fawn BDC/Miss Forrester son COOL DRAUGHT has recently put together another to excellent was, taking out a grade 3 and 4 at Angle Park and a grade 4 at Gawler.
Commiserations to trainer , Steve Shinners, and owners of the terrific race dog GAELIC STYLE(Larkhill Jo x Stunning Style) who, I understand was badly injured while racing at Sandown.
Racing can be such a tough game. Always sad to hear when a dog gets hurt.
Chin up Steve and the boy's owners.
Poor Minnie hasn't had the best of luck on the track. She did win her first start but goy a nasty knock on the way to the front, her second start, after nearly getting piulled down by the dog behind her she still came home like a train to run second but was pretty sore. Her third start at Sandown, smashed again, Cranbourne - the same! So we gave the poor girl a bit of a break, she came back better than ever, won a couple of half fields at Warragul in great times and by five and six lengths so we put her back in at Warragul.
She drew the eight, missed the start but she was moving well up the outside and making plenty of ground and........ bang! The dog inside her doesn't take the corner and just about took her out completely! Poor kid, talk about unlucky! It seemed her confidence would be all but gone and we had to patch up a few injuries but we decided to give her one more try.
We did a few things differently, freshened up up a bit and trialled her a couple of times at Geelong. She seemed to love the place so we nominated her for last Friday. She drew the five. NOT a good thing! BUT, bless her, she came out with them, got bounced around a little going into the turn but persevered and ran the leader down in fine style, winning in the good time of 25.76. Very proud of her working her way thru the field and chasing hard all the way home!
This win puts her in the final next Friday for the battle Of The Sexes! I think she had the fastest win for the girls but some of the boys were pretty smart so we'll see how she goes next week. Fingers crossed! (How Bazar is by LARKHILL JO and out of STUNNING STYLE so she is a maternal sister to PREMIER STYLE).
TRADE WINS AGAIN
The very first greyhound we ever bought was the beautifuL black bitch INTEGRITY LASS. She is by TOKEN PRINCE and out of THAI CHARM, so she is very closley related to the top producing THAI AGAIN.
A very quick girl, poor Barbie had to cope with me being a newbie trainer and she had quite a few problems of her own but, despite me, she actually ended up going quite well and won some races for me including a win at Sandown by nine or so lengths. Sadly, her next start after that win back at Sandown, the dog in the box next to her fought her not fifty metres out of the boxes, rammed her off the track over the back and ended up pinning her down in the catching pen (obviously did not like her very much as it seems he had a set on her right from th e start.Mind you he had been outted for fighting twice before.) Ever since that, her nerves were shot and we couldn't get her going in a field again.
So, she was retired and bred to BIG DADDY COOL. She had a gorgeous litter of six and the first of that litter to race -
TRADE - won at her second start and has just had another good win at Goulburn for her owner MARK SCHOLES! That's two from three so that's great going! Congratualtions Mark!! Trade went to Mark at about eleven months of age. She is a lovely blue girl, aptly named Bluebell to her forends! We are lookng forward to seeing the rest of the litter out there!
**(We actually have an eleven month old girl out of Barbie and by HALLUCINATE for sale at the moment. Details on the sales page.)
NEW ARRIVALS!
Our big BLACK SHIRAZ daughter SHOW STOPPER (out of a litter sister to NO INTENT) has just presented us with a litter of gorgeous pups by BIG DADDY COOL! Four boys and two girls - Black and whites and brindles!
Molly's first litter, by ELITE STATE are not along way off racing and we have had some very exciting reports on a few of them. We had BAM SIYAN here, who broke in exceptionally well. He is now with Max Johnson. And we have a sister her who is shaping up very well BUT has just come into season!!
